BBC Management are proposing to abolish BBC Radio 7 and turn it into a station that simply repeats current Radio 4 shows, re-launching it as ‘Radio 4 Extra’.

Radio 7 (originally called BBC 7) is the digital radio station which regularly broadcasts the 'Steptoe and Son' radio series held in the BBC Sound Archives.

The BBC Trust has launched a public consultation on this proposal.
