The US have had all AYBS's released for ages now and we are still only up to series 7!
I've just looked at Play.com and they list "Are You Being Served? - V. 6: Founder's Day" and "Are You Being Served? - V. 5: Fifty Years On" - I dont have a clue whats on those disks but i'll bet we'll never see them Sad
by the time we get the last series released over here, DVD will be old hat and it'll come out on hologram cube or something.

I felt the same about Monty Python's Flying Circus, many years ago...

So, unwilling to wait for hologram technology to be developed, I went and bought the American edition... Smiley

The downside is, I also went and bought the European edition, much better in quality and less censored, as soon as it came out around last year, so I wasted quite a bit of money, also considering the only way of getting rid of the old, American edition now would be through a charity shop, probably...

Still, I've no regrets, I just couldn't go on living without having ever seen more than a few chunks of MPFC, and I think that money was well wasted Grin

You forgot to mention said box-set would cost about a half of the original instalments Grin

Yes, they do that, and we know they do, what we don't know is WHEN they're going to do it... it might be, and in the MPFC case was, some 3 years, if not more...

Bottom line to me is, how bad do I want this NOW? If it's bad enough, as I said, I won't regret having wasted some money, after all time IS money, innit? Wink

BTW, only a few weeks after I bought that European edition of MPFC, THIS popped out...

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Monty-Python-Definitive-Outrageously-Collection/dp/B000W8AB22/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1220539778&sr=8-4

But for once, I actually had a better deal, also thanks to x'mas seizeable discounts, in fact I got not only the same stuff included in this pack, but also the Fawlty Towers and Ripping Yarns box sets for just about the same money, and I certainly value these latter two better than a t-shirt stating that I'm wearing suspenders and a bra and an inflatable dead parrot... Wink

Still, though... an inflatable dead parrot... that'd be nice to have... Grin

A bit difficult to give a fair answer for someone who's got a bit of a religious attitude toward Pythons, both as group and as individuals... Wink

But yes, Ripping Yarns is good, most episodes, IF you don't expect either Pythons or Fawlty Towers.

This is... "situation parody", a comparison could be made, perhaps, with the later Comic Strip Presents episodes with the "Famous Five" parodies, early ones.

And then there's Michael Palin...

He's got that same endearing type of charisma, I could call that just "niceness", that was typical of poor Richard Beckinsale as well as his daughter Kate, you know... Wink

I'm in a nice mood today... Grin
