Stephen Fry 'proud' to be a Canary

Comedian Stephen Fry has joined the board of Norwich City FC, the club has confirmed.
A statement on the team's website said Fry would become a director and "ambassador" for the Championship club.
He said: "Truly this is one of the most exciting days of my life and I am as proud and pleased as I could be."

Well, what can you say? Clearly, the love for football transcends (i.e. bypasses) even the brightest intellects... Grin

Mind you, I adore football myself, it's just that I'm unable to be a "proper" supporter, I can't help thinking it's still some 20 blokes chasing a ball in their underpants, the game's nice (or, rather, COULD be, at times...), who wins is almost irrelevant, even though "my" team's the one that won the national League, the national Cup AND the Champions League last year... Grin

And yes, even though the World Cup has just barely ended, I'm looking foward to the start of the Premier League later today... Wink
