Vic Reeves in the new BBC drama about Eric Morecambe

Vic Reeves is to star in a forthcoming BBC drama about comedy hero Eric Morecambe.

Despire bearing a resemblance to the late star, however, he will actually play Eric's dad George.

Reeves, real name Jim Moir, will appear alongside Victoria Wood, who also conceived the project. She will play Eric's notoriously pushy mother Sadie.

I hope the BBC do a 'biopic' for once thats actually got a slight second of truth in it... Victoria Wood adds credibility to it, so it's probably going to be better than the fictional series they did about people on BBC4.

I can see why Vic got the role, there is a lot of Eric Morcambe in his appearance. Should be good!

Yeah, he does look a lot like Eric, even though he is playing his dad!

I agree with what you say with your other comment, British media seems to love to destroy our icons.
